Autres Choses

It's not to seek an excuse, but deep down. I am not a landscape photo guy. However, from time to time, it is refreshing to try other types of photography.

So this is landscape photography, with an urban element because you can't totally deny yourself.

The technical data are provided because it seems to me that as far as landscape photography is concerned, the choices are, at least for what concerns me still for the moment, more open. The photographs were taken with a Fujifilm X-Pro2 and a Fujinon XF18mm-f2 and processed with LightRoom.

Shooting:
Opening at f2.0, which leads to an exposure of 1/12000 even if ISO200, long live the electronic shutter. This is not very interesting at this shooting distance and with this focal length but, I wanted for this picture a rather soft treatment. It is reassuring to know what you are looking for when you are outside your comfort zone.

Post-processing:
. Adobe Color" profile and desaturation.  It's not standard but it works pretty well here.
. Tonal curve with a very light "S".

. HSL heavy enough luminance setting: at the minimum in the blue

. Work on light

Shooting:
Opening at f5.6, which is much more common.

Processing:
Passage through Nik Silver Efex but remaining very reasonable and then light work on the light.

Data for both photographs.

Shooting:
Opening at f5.6, which is much more common.

Processing:
Passage through Nik Silver Efex. As soon as there is concrete, Silver Efex is a pretty obvious choice.

If the holidays are the occasion of a break from the professional constraints, they also allow to change a little my style of photography.

Street photography is essentially urban but it can also occasionally emerge in quite different situations.

Fort-Mahon

According to Wikipedia, Fort-Mahon is a French commune situated on the coast of the English Channel and endowed with a sandy beach and massive sand dunes,

For me, it was a name found in the title of one of the photographs of  Harry Gruyaert in is book  "Rivages": "Beach of the town of Fort Mahon, bay of the Somme river, Picardie region, France

Some years after,  I was actually working on a project in Picardy and we needed tp make some kind of communication document. The person in charge of communication brought me a layout with  Gruyaert's photo and told candidly that she had found a nice picture.
