Some grub for Fuji X (and Lightroom) users II

On m'a demandé sur un autre site d'expliciter comment je procède pour la photographie de rue.

Notes préliminaires:

1 / Ce qui suit est fortement lié à ma pratique et plus précisement à la photographie de rue en noir et blanc.

2 / Il existe bien d'autres méthodes par des photographes très qualifiés, celles-ci peuvent être très différentes de ce qui suit.

J'utilise un Fujifilm X-PRO2 (caméra APSC avec visionneuse hybride (optique /OVF-électronique / EVF)).

Les objectifs utilisés sont en ordre décroissant les objectifs fixes de 35mm, 23mmf2.0 18mm.

J'ai une préférence pour l'OVF, sauf avec le 18mm ou dans des conditions de faible éclairage et avec le 35mm, j'ai tendance à utiliser le réglage OVF à faible grossissement.

Habituellement, je:

1 / régle l'ISO automatique jusqu'à 3200 (ou 6400) avec une durée d'exposition  réglée sur 1/500 ou (1/250).

2 / utilise la mise au point de zone via le bouton AF / L en mode verrouillage

3 / travaille en RAW + JPEG, avec réglage du profil d'émulation de film en noir et blanc (ACROS) et quelques adaptations, pour avoir si nécessaire une visualisation facile de l'image finale.

Avec 1 / et 2 / je peux me concentrer sur la composition.

J'édite sous Lightroom du RAW avec un préréglage personnel qui émule le réglage du film du boitier, mais je garde généralement le profil sous LR dans un mode couleur avec la saturation réglée sur 0 pour garder la possibilité d'utiliser les outils de couleur.

I have been asked on another site to explicit my setting for street photography.

Preliminary remarks :
1 / The following is strongly related to my practice and more specifically to street photography in black and white.

2 / There are many other methods by highly qualified photographers, these can be very different from the following.

I use a Fujifilm X-PRO2 (APSC camera with a hybrid (optical/OVF-electronic/EVF) viewer).

The lens used are in decreasing order the 35mm, 23mmf2.0 18mm fixed lens.

I have a preference for the OVF unless with the 18mm or in low light conditions and with the 35mm I tend to use the low magnification OVF setting.

Usually, I:
1/  set Auto ISO up to 3200 (or 6400) with a floor exposure time set to 1/500 or (1/250).
2/  use zone focus via the AF/L button in lock mode
3/  shot in RAW + JPEG, setting the film emulation profile to Black & White (ACROS) with tweaks,  to have if needed an easy visualization of the resulting picture.

With 1/ and 2/ I can concentrate on the composition.   


I postprocess under Lightroom from the RAW with a personal preset that emulates the camera film setting, But I generally keep the camera profile under LR in a Color mode with saturation set to 0 to keep the possibility to use the color tools.
